Cold-melt joining is not as simple as gluing the parts together, it is at the molecular level, fusing the parts together to form a unified and continuous whole. The cold-melt connection first softens the surface of the joint of the pipe and fittings with pre-adhesive, and then inserts the pipe and fitting forcefully, and the softened surfaces can be fused together at the molecular level. The adhesive contains CPVC grease to fill any voids between the joining surfaces.
