Temperature control valves are used to control the temperature of liquids in steam turbines, compressors, engine water jackets and lube oil cooling systems. They are suitable for process regulation and industrial applications, where mixed or split flow applications are often used to achieve better temperatures. They can also be applied to cogeneration systems to regulate the temperature in the heat recovery loop, ensure proper engine cooling and maximize heat recovery. Valves used in industrial applications are often defined by the number of ports they have. As the name suggests, two-way valves have two ports, three-way valves have three ports, and so on. Since different valves support different flow rates, temperature ranges, fluid types and pressures, knowing these can help in choosing the right valve.
