Compression fittings provide a reliable, leak-tight connection that avoids vibration, leakage, thermal shock, and serious and costly problems caused by incorrect installation. Leak-proof sealing performance, when installed on good quality pipe, the ferrule will not leak even under harsh working conditions. This is because such ferrule fittings rely on a metal-to-metal mechanical seal. The ferrule can be cold extruded onto the tube by tightening the union nut. Compression fittings are always detectable. After initial installation, use the gap detection feature to enable the installer or inspector to ensure that the tube fittings are adequately tightened. If the nut is properly tightened, the inspection gauge will not fit between the nut hex end and the fitting body. Simple installation and consistent initial installation detectability greatly reduces installation errors.
