Exploring PEX Pipe: Industry Wisdom Shared

PEX pipe, also known as cross-linked polyethylene pipe, is made of polyethylene material, and the linear molecular structure of polyethylene is transformed into a three-dimensional network structure through physical and chemical methods, thereby improving the performance of polyethylene. Its main raw materials are HDPE, as well as initiators, cross-linking agents, catalysts and other auxiliaries. If there are special requirements, other modified agents can also be added. The currently commercialized PEX pipes are the first three types, and the performance of the three types of PEX pipes is not completely the same, mainly manifested in the differences in heat resistance (thermal strength), creep resistance, and stress cracking resistance. Generally speaking, in the macromolecular structure, the macromolecules of the two-dimensional network structure are relatively easy to thermally move, while the macromolecules of the three-dimensional body structure are slightly more difficult to thermally move. The macromolecules of PEXa are mainly two-dimensional network structure, while the macromolecules of PEXb and PEXc are mainly three-dimensional body structure.
