PEX pipes are usually connected using special PEX fittings during installation. PEX fittings can be divided into three types: crimp, bayonet and thread. Different types of PEX fittings require corresponding tools for installation.
1. Crimp-type PEX pipe fittings: This kind of pipe fittings are pressed tightly on the PEX pipe by special crimping tools. Press-fit PEX fittings usually include T-shaped, elbow, straight and other types. This kind of pipe fitting connection is safe and reliable, and has good sealing performance, but it requires special pliers and is difficult to disassemble.
2. Threaded PEX fittings: These fittings are secured by threaded connections. Threaded PEX pipe fittings include straight, elbow, T, hook and other types. The connection method of this kind of pipe fittings is simple, but special tools such as screwdrivers are required for installation, and the connections are prone to rust and water leakage.
