Should the waterproof layer be placed above or below the water pipe?

After the pipeline line is laid out, should the waterproofing be done under or on the pipeline when the subsequent waterproofing is applied? I believe many people have this doubt, but in fact, regardless of whether the waterproofing is done under or on the pipe, as long as the waterproof layer is not damaged, it can play a waterproof role.

Method 1: Waterproofing is done under the pipe:

Waterproofing is done under the pipeline to prevent water leakage caused by rupture of the water pipe. Since the pipeline has already been laid, we need to paint the underside of the pipeline for waterproofing at this time, and then lift the pipeline for painting. After painting, always keep a certain distance between the pipeline and the waterproof layer before the waterproof coating film is dry to prevent the pipeline from damaging the newly painted waterproof layer. When doing the work of drilling the eyes later, it is also necessary to protect the waterproof layer to avoid the hidden danger of water leakage caused by the damage of the waterproof layer.

Method 2: Waterproofing is done on the pipe:

Nowadays, pipelines like PPR are not prone to leakage due to the general welding process. In order to prevent water leakage caused by indoor water accumulation, before waterproofing, the water pipes should be buried in the ground, smoothed with mortar, and then some cracks, yin and yang corners, and pipe roots should be strengthened with the plugging device, and finally painted with waterproof coating. .

Both methods are desirable. Compared with the former, the waterproof layer is easily damaged, and the latter is commonly used.
